Marija is an abstract artist. In her painting process she searches for a visual expression of her own mindfulness concepts, inner thoughts, relationships and feelings. She is interested in large formats, which she paints following the movements of her body, expressing herself “here and now”. She materializes her inner impressions on the canvas with acrylic, pastels and graphite pencil. As a painting tool, she often uses objects from her everyday environment, so her set-up, compositionally and in detail, greatly influences her artistic expression. Marija's art is born under the influence of personal feelings, dreams and the unspoken. She often describes her work as a “visual record of reactions“ and “her own universe of colors”. Marija works as an urban planner at the Urban Planning Institute of Belgrade, Serbia.
